Day 1 | Frozen Paleo challenge

DAY 1

Started off the morning with some coffee and a hard boiled egg, I was pretty satisfied for a bit but will probably have to up my breakfast intake so I dont lose my mind waiting for lunch!  I havent found any frozen paleo friendly breakfast meals yet but there are so many ways to stay within the paleo limits that I think I am ok with not having frozen meals in the morning.

Lunch came in and I went with my first frozen paleo meal and it was the one that actually made me think of doing this for 30 days.  I have to admit as far as looking like the pic on the packaging its a solid 2/10.  But the taste is not terrible, it has some spice but the consistency is not what I was really hoping for.  I will try cooking it not in the microwave next time to see if that has any effect on it.  I did get a piece of what might have been cartilage or some other "grissel" type texture.  3/4 the way through the meal I am getting a good amount of heat and I like that.  But overall I will have to give this meal a 6/10 nothing to get excited about but it fills me up and wasnt terrible.

The rest of the day wasnt too bad, I was not overly hungry as I expected but I will have to make sure I have snacks to keep me on track during the days with increased physical activity.  I finished out the day with a braised beef meal with sweet potato puree and broccoli that you can see in my video HERE I will do a blog in the future about that meal.

This was an interesting and eventful first day of eating frozen paleo meals.  The food will be the easy part training my brain to do not crave certain foods or drinks (Busch Latte) will be the hard part.  I am pleased with myself overall in the first day I did not eat anything that is not paleo and my main meals were frozen.  I did have some beers with friends though and that has to be cut down so I can see the true results of my month.  The way I look at it is if I always have something to work towards I will never get bored.
